Here is an artist which has the similar theme, in her work, to my practice. Kimmi uses old pottery as the basis of her work she makes jewellery from the broken shards, which helps to eliminate the waste of the broken pottery. She collects broken plates/pots/vessels and grinds them down into forms of which she moulds her jewellery around. She makes necklaces, earrings, brooches, cufflinks and even stitch markers.
“I had long had the idea of making jewellery out of broken cups and plates as I had worked with so many fantastic shards in the museums. Also having seen how shards have been reused throughout history I just think it is an amazing thing to do – saving old and beautifully made objects that would otherwise end up in the bin.”
