Faking it- Progress of Giant chicken

I have enjoyed my project for field, recreating Roald Dahl’s George’s marvellous medicine has been a challenge and still is an ongoing challenge. We are coming to the final week and there is still so much to do. Me and Carter (another Maker) have been working hard over the last few weeks on the main wire frame work of the chicken. It’s been a long process because of difficulties that have arose. We also have another member of the group Becky who is an illustrator, she is working on making paper mache bottles and adding the labels from the book. My main job was to make the chicken’s head out of paper mache. Here is the process of making:

I have made a timetable for the next week so we can get the chicken done for thursday.

  • Monday-Finish framework and start sewing fabric
  • Tuesday- continue sewing fabric, put together shelving unit for bottles. (Meeting with Bethan)
  • Wednesday-Layer the stuffing and attach fabric, Work on bucket.
  • Thursday- Present and exhibit finished work.
