Faking it (3 part 1)

In the third lesson we had Joe to talk to us about his previous work in Wild Creations in Cardiff, Wild Creations are a prop and set making Company. He firstly showed us some of his objects he had been working on, there was a Red Bull light box made to look like a set of drums which was cool. He make the frame out of wood and then spray painted it to look like metal, by doing so he used a much more cheaper material and manipulated it’s appearance to look metallic. He uses lots of cheaper materials in his work like polystyrene and foam. They coat the models with a hard coat of car filler to make it longer lasting. I really enjoyed the talk off Joe as it gave a really good insight into larger scale model making.
