3rd Time is a charm for mould making

Last night I decided to give my mould making another go, my mum was my model and I made her comfortable with a pen lid inside a sponge, which went inside her mouth to avoid the alginate from pouring down her throat, the pen lid was there to imitate the bullet, I then made a plasticine wall which went from her nose and around her mouth to avoid the alginate from pouring down and making the mould thin.

Once I was happy with my mould I placed it into a plastic tupperware set covered in a plastic bag (making sure the plaster wouldn’t stick) I then built up the sides with more plasticine and began to mix the plaster. Once I poured the plaster I let it set for 20 minutes. Here are the results, I think they are pretty good any imperfections I can clean up using ceramic tools and clay.
