Today in the print room Kim showed us some examples of woodcut prints and we got to make our own. We went outside and drew from nature from first hand and straight onto the wood. I found the contrast between the thickness of the branches and the tree trunk to be quite interesting. I had done woodcut printing before but I found it much easier this time around. After I had cut out my design I then painted a coat of gloss over the wood cut, this prolongs the life of the woodcut.

The next printing technique was linoprint, I have never made a linocut print before so I found it to be interesting. It was easier and we used a sander tool so it was very easy.
