As my last mould didn’t turn out how I would’ve like and looked hideous, I decided it was back to the drawing board and researched more into glass shattering and what was the best to use.
After looking at a range of shattered glass I found a few common themes in how they shatter. I call this one the spider web, and this is the one I took from my first mould. To me it does look so much like a spider web but when you recreate this in clay be wary.
The next is the the effect I need and is the less affected shattered glass for instance like the one bellow. I prefer this one as I can capture more of a true shattered glass on a smaller scale like my medal.
From this I will print it off and using a light box I will trace over the lines and see what detail I can pick up on.
